Greetings and best wishes from an ex-Jersey guy(Metuchen), born on the 4th of July (1949), and for the past 18 years living in rural Williamsville, Vermont, USA. I was able to see most of the 1971, Student Prince gigs in Asbury Park. This was before the hype and fame. Absolutely terrific music and fun! The audiences grew each week but the earliest shows were moderately attended. Needless to say, the music and atmosphere were terrific. Blues, Stones, Chuck Berry and original songs all were performed with kick-ass enthusiasm. The audience was literally 10 - 12 feet away from the band and we had the opportunity to mingle during the breaks, etc. Jersey kids from the late 60's - early 70's doing what we all did best: rocking and rolling!

Bruce is the boss. I am 15 and i think that he absolutely rocks. I went to see him at manchester on his european tour in 99. I love this web page. Just saw both shows in Hartford Connecticut, 5/7 and 5/8. I thought that the first show couldn't be topped but then.....the next night blew me away. BECAUSE THE NIGHT, an unbelievable version of Atlantic City and finally the unbelievable Spirit in the Night. I had a tarp begging Bruce to play something from "Tunnel" and thank goodness he at least played Brilliant Disguise. Oh well, no Walk Like a Man but I'll take it!!

Hi DAN'ers; I like the way you've laid out your pages and I look forward to visiting here over and over again. Thank you for accomodating people like me who only speak one language <in my case, American-English> In late November '99 I saw my first BS&TheESBand gig in 20+ years when the Boys In The Band visited Albany New York (about 65 km east of my home). Woof! II still haven't figured out the best combination of words to try and describe the concert to friends who have never seen Bruce. Maybe I'll just steer them to t his URL and let them get into the BS Ring of Sites.
I welcome any correspondence from people willing to accept my uni-language limitation. I'm a (now retired) drummer who occasionally pines to sit down and just shuffle for about 2.5 hours. I worked (grunting and driving) for Luther Allison for several years and truly appreciate the way fans ((converts)) come back again and again. Best to all who have gotten this far...

I think your name "Drive All Night" is a good one as this is, in my opinion, THE greatest Springsteen song. I never play it for people who are not familiar with his music cause it scares them away. But if you have a passion for passionate music, this song is a killer. Great choice.

Suzanne - Our friend Dr. Sharon went to see Bruce opening in Philadelphia last night and I think her feet have not yet touched back on the ground! All of her patients in the hospital where she works are calling her the smiling physician today and it is making them feel better! It just proves that listening to Bruce is good medicine! Just saw Bruce last night at the Fleet Center in Boston. The show was fabulous. Bruce was relaxed and really enjoyed himself with the E-street Band. He rocked the Fleet Center and graced us with a few ballads, including a new little number about the town he grew up in, called "Freehold." But Badlands remained my all-time favorite. Even though I sat in the last row in the balcony, Bruce touched my heart and soul last night as we all know he does so well. Long Live Bruce!

In www.backstreets.com, I have read this: "No further information is known at this time, but several reports have the tour hitting stadiums in the year 2000. So, good news that the tour may likely continue, but that said, it's hard not to be disappointed in the potential move from arenas to stadiums. We'll see." World premiere of Lions Den (4th song) as well as ............................................... "LOOSE ENDS" (played somewhere between 10th avenue and Light Of Day). Another premiere was.............. Racing In The Street, played between 10th and LOD, too! A black musician from Little Steven's band joined the band on stage for Hungry Heart. Hi there. Just got back from the first Rehearsal-show in Asbury Park. Bruce & the E-Streeters are definitely ready for the tour. The announced 1 hour show lasted for 2.5 hours! They kicked off with PROVE IT ALL NIGHT at 8.05pm. Followed by: TWO HEARTS * DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN * MY LOVE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN * FACTORY * THE RIVER * YOUNGSTOWN * BADLANDS * OUT IN THE STREETS * 10TH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT * TOUGHER THAN THE REST * SPIRITS IN THE NIGHT * THE GHOST OF TOM JOAD * THE PROMISED LAND * SHE'S THE ONE * BACKSTREETS * LIGHT OF DAY * BORN TO RUN * BOBBY JEAN * STREETS OF PHILADELPHIA * THUNDER ROAD * IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND * THIS TRAIN. .... The show closed at 10.35pm with the great new song THIS TRAIN. For now, we just pick up a few highlights... MY LOVE... was the only song from TRACKS. It sounded very good, very rocking with three guitars. The next 3 songs were just beautiful. First FACTORY with a nice intro and Bruce & Patti sharing vocals. Followed by a new arrangement of THE RIVER, starting with a sax-intro, then Bruce started playing harmonica and sung the song different. YOUNGSTOWN was just unbelievable!! Amazing! It started slowly and kicked finally in a fullband rocksong. While Bruce was changing his guitar after the first lines of BADLANDS, the audience was singing the rest of the first verse. The band introduction was part of 10TH AVENUE. SPIRITS IN THE NIGHT was a funny rendition. Bruce forgot some words and was laughing and joking with the crowd. TOM JOAD was playing in an interesting sparse fullband version. The next four songs sounded just great. After LIGHT OF DAY the band lined up in front of the stage. Instead of going backstage they went back to their instruments and rocked the house down with BORN TO RUN & BOBBY JEAN. Bruce, Patti, Nils, Clarence & Steve shared vocals together and sung also solo parts on IF I SHOULD... The band looked happy and had a lot of fun onstage. We think they still have to work on a few arrangements but overall, they sounded pretty good. Bruce said he is happy to play finally the convention hall. For the two of us, it was just an amazing night!!! There was definitely magic on the boardwalk. ........... THIS TRAIN carries saints and sinners, THIS TRAIN carries loosers and winners, THIS TRAIN carries souls of the departed... THIS TRAIN LET FREEDOM RING...

Hello!!! Last night, the show for the rock'n'roll hall of fame started at 8.30 pm. ahmet ertegun of atlantic records had the very first speech followed by all the others. we're now just talking about bruce. bono inducted him with a long speech, followed by bruce with a longer speech. he first thanked his mother for buying that 60 dollar guitar in freehold (the wish....). he dedicated the award to his mother, he even told her that it's hers and she should take it home. bruce thanked everybody, icluding mike appel, who he thanked for "everything, ....almost everything and for being his guest that night...". he thanked the e street band as well as "the future of rock'n'roll management, jon landau". bruce and the e street band played the following songs: the promised land * Backstreets (amazing) * 10th avenue freeze-out * In the midnight hour (with wilson pickett). 5 mics were in front of the stage. only max, danny and garry were in the background. it looked like a big wall. when they started to play promised land, that big big wall of sound came all over you and you almost couldn't handle it because it was so big. they sounded excellent! backstreets was just amazing. 10th was cool as always, in the midnight hour was a lot of fun. bruce and some of the e streeters joined the jam session for people get ready and let it be. more to follow. check back.

hello. 30-40 fans have been lucky enough to get into the convention hall for the final rehearsal last thursday. They played some old songs like 'out in the streets' / 'factory' / 'backstreets' / 'bobby jean' and 'youngstown' as well as two new songs called 'this train' and 'saturday night'. ....... don't miss todays 'sunday asbury park press' including a 20pages bruce-special. ..... everybody is looking forward to the hall of fame inductees tomorrow night. so we do...

hi all. just got back from todays rehearsals. someone told us bruce arrived at 12.30pm, we got there around 1.00pm. we've heard the following songs: where the bands are * don't look back (2x) * loose ends * be true * dollhouse * give the girl a kiss (2x) * my love will not let you down * prove it all night * two hearts (with steve sharing vocals) * darkness on the edge of town * seeds. Outside, it was cold, even the sun was shining, and bad soundquality. there have been around 50 persons listening with us. they finished at 4.30pm and came out twenty minutes later, one after another in the car. bruce was the last one, he walked out and gave some autographs before he walked back, get into his car and drove away.

I just got back from Asbury Park. I heard the boys rehearse Rosalita from the beach outside the convention center. They sound great. I got Clarence's autograph and picture as he drove off. I screamed to little Stevie that I liked the Sopranos and I took a picture of Bruce in his Explorer as he drove by quicly, looking nervous and not stopping. I'm thinking about going back tomorrow for more!

Hello, everybody. I'm a big fan dedicated to Bruce's music, writing from Tokyo. But I have not seen him on the stage with the E-Street Band. To see the E-Street show has always been my dream for 15 years, since I first saw his video "Rosalita" which knocked me down when I was 14. So I'm jumping around to hear that the E-Street tour will be on the road on 1999. I can't wait for them to come to Japan! Now my wife and I are planning to fly to USA to see the show. However there is a problem. How can we get the tickets? Anybody have a good idea? I have visited Ticketmaster's site. It seems they offer "international ordering system", but not sure they offer it for Bruce's shows. Anybody have good idea?
