Well, tonight at the tradewinds in sea bright, NJ, Steve Earle played a scheduled concert. it wasn't until towards the end of the night that I realized Springsteen was standing at the back bar alone watching. when Steve and his band came onstage for the encores, Bruce was right up there with them. Steve acknowledged his appearance (after the crowd already had... this was afterall, new jersey) by simply proclaiming... "they let anyone in this place". they then launched into the encores...
